Late Roman Ridge Helmet AH-6722-N

Our Late Roman Ridge Helmet is a typical light infantry helmet, probably worn by auxiliaries instead of the legions. The ridge helmet seems to have been based on the similar "ridge" helmets of Rome's enemy, the Sassanian Perisan empire. This type of helmet was constructed with a central reinforcing band that held the two halves together, hence the name "Ridge" helmet. The eyes placed on the front of the helmet are reminiscent of the eyebrows on the fronts of the Imperial Gallic Helmets, and appear to be a Roman feature, not seen on Persian helmets. Our Late Roman Ridge Helmet is made from steel with a leather interior.
